I am very happy to announce that I have uploaded my 100th vlog! Hard to believe that I started vlogging almost a year ago. The idea was to document this exciting time in my life, but the result was far greater than that. Pushing myself to make a movie every single day has given me new skills and insights that I didn’t expect.

Life Lessons

For one, editing a ten minute video every night forced me to create a workflow designed to increse speed while upholding quality. An edit that first took me a couple hours has almost decreased by half the time. Granted I don’t consider myself by any means a master at editing, but I can say with certainty that I now know how to put together the edit I want before I even shoot it. I find that shooting with an edit in mind, results in a shorter assembly period.

Knowing that I’m going to share what’s happening in my life from day to day has pushed me to do more within that 24-hour period. It allows me to be accountable for my actions. Slaking off would make a very booring video.

Where to go from here

This is nowhere near the end of this journey. Creating my first 100 vlogs has proven to me that I like creating in this medium. In fact, it’s inspired me to dig even deeper into creating the content I want to make. I’ve spent the last couple months brainstorming where I want to take my channel. I still have a lot of questions, but from evereywhere I’ve looked the answer has been clear – just keep uploading.

I agree! The reason why my last couple vlogs were months apart from the first 98 was because I kept feeling like I needed to make the next video some gigantic production to reinvent the wheel. Slow and steady is where it’s at. I want to try something new with every video to develop my own personal style. I have no idea what my style is going to be like, but I do know that the reward of people enjoying my content will be excedingly more exciting when I know that it all came from my creation.

I am very excited to keep creating new videos. Here’s to the next 100!
